This PowerPoint presentation is the final artifact of my learning in this theme. Created as a visual introduction, it looks at my use of technology from the early years up to my undergraduate studies. This slideshow was my first time using some of the more advanced features of PowerPoint, which led to further experimentation of this powerful software.
This artifact has been designed as an art gallery, in which you can follow the links to the various rooms for more information. Below is the link to the original PowerPoint interactive presentation.

Technology & Me
Course: Technology & the Curriculum
Introductory Assignment: Technology & Me PowerPoint Art Gallery This project was chosen primarily because I thought it to be a uniquely creative way of getting students to begin thinking about their personal technology use, and for its imaginative method of peer introduction. My secondary purpose for its inclusion was its representation as the least technical of all my multi-media assignments, and it was an application I used throughout this program, but had never in my two decades of use considered the animation effects until it was introduced by a fellow student. As the first project completed in Technology and the Curriculum, it prompted me to begin thinking about all the technology I have used from the very basic to the much more complex. Although this project was far simpler to create than working with some of the more complex technologies on the market, there were still some issues with internal links. However, rather than give up on this technology altogether, it led me to further explore the possibilities PowerPoint held for future animated projects, some of which were attempted without success, but they have nevertheless inspired me to continue working on the technical issues with the help of my community of practice. PowerPoint also offers students who do not have internet access the possibility to create animated slide presentations that can be just as inventive as some of the online presentation software. While I have used PowerPoint since its first release, I had never ventured into the more complex elements of this popular software, so this artifact also represents a merging of the old with the new and serves to remind me that the most innovative technologies are not always the best. |
